A Book Post

I've been spending most of my time in escapist reading.

I guess I could go to the trouble to show you the covers of the books or provide links yada yada yada, but I'm lazy (no surprise I'm sure.)

So anyway...I have read:

  • Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters-so much better than book one
  • Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse-better than the first, not as good as the second (I really love Tyson...who is back for book 4 ...which I am currently reading and loving.)
The following list is a little embarrassing, but at this point I figure it doesn't really matter if folks know what I've known for a while: I am without a doubt a loser.

Again, I remind you--I needed escape
  • An April Love Story--part of the cheesy late 70's early 80's young adult romance series of books published under the "Wildfire" moniker.
  • Dance With Me--yeah, more cheesy teen romance.
  • Superflirt--See above. I am not ashamed to admit I have a book with this title. It didn't seem so bad when I was 12. Don't judge me.  Oh and yeah, I have held on to these books for all these years and yes I do other titles to read. (Since I am airing all my loser dirty laundry.)
  • Jessica the Thief--Sweet Valley Twins and Friends. Seriously. Though not from my childhood. I started perusing Offspring's shelves when I got desperate for escape.
  • Sneaking Out--More Sweet Valley Twins and Friends.
  • One 2 Many--Sweet Valley Jr. High (a marketing ploy methinks.) It's getting to when ever Hubadub sees me with a book he asks how things are going in Sweet Valley. Smart ass.
I'm also reading several books at the same time:
  • Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth
  • La Travesía de Enrique (worth a link...but I've linked to the English version)
  • Don Quixote (I know, right? I should have read this loooooong ago.)
  • The Luxe
  • Better Off (More like I'm dabbling with this one. I can't quite decide if I want to read it in earnest.)
I've got other books piled up next to the bed as well. Such classics as:
  • One Day You'll Go
  • Sweet Valley High #1--Double Love
  • Beautiful Girl
  • Cindy
Serious reading includes:
  • They Take Our Jobs! And 20 Other Myths About Immigration
I've got a slew of other books on my Goodreads "to read" shelf as well.

I've read a few blogs. I've actually checked a few projects on Ravelry. Some days I think I might return to the world of the living and then I kind of wonder if I should bother. Meh. I've started taking a B-complex tab twice a day hoping it will help my mood. I'm pretty disillusioned with everything these days. Seriously, everyone and everything sucks and we need to stop acting like "occupy" anything is going to make a damn bit of difference. We are ALL whiny yet arrogant fucks in this country. We need do stop acting like we aren't. And, no, electing the "correct" party isn't going to make us any less a country of whiny and arrogant fucks

Although I have to shout out to Vivianne who sent me a great, funny e-mail. She knows what I'm talking about.

No Title

I've approved comments. Thanks everyone.
I de-friended 5 pages worth of people on ravelry. I didn't even know most of the folks anyway. Srsly? 288 friends?
I cast on a pair of socks Saturday. Well, after I looked up how to cast on. Yeah. I forgot.
Maybe one day I'll share what's going on.

Sad.
