In January, I told myself I would make 6 pairs of socks this year. I don't think that is going to happen. I'm pretty ambivalent when it comes to socks. I own a squillion sock pattern books and a metric ton of sock yarn. I am madly in love the idea of socks...just not the actual process of knitting them.
I like socks because:
- As far a s projects go, they are pretty portable.
- Turning a heel is just cool.
- Handmade socks are a joy to wear.
- It is kind of an ego boost when someone comments on your socks and you can say "I made them myself."
- They are seamless.
- It seems to take me forever to knit them...even worsted weight ones. And I really don't understand this because I have small feet (size 6 1/2. )
- Ok, so that's the only thing I dislike about socks. For me they are not instant gratification projects. Despite this, I plan on casting on another pair this afternoon.
