Knit & Crochet Blog Week Day 4

May I just say before I begin, that I spent most of yesterday evening reading posts of other participants and saying "Oh yeah! Why didn't I think of that great knitter?"
Now on to Day 4...

A New Skill
Is there a skill related to your hobby that you hope to learn one day? maybe you’re a crocheter who’d also like to knit? Maybe you’d like to learn to knit continental, knit backwards, try cables or attempt stranded colourwork.

I don't know that it is a skill one can learn, but I really envy designers. I admire folks who can make wonderful things with no pattern. I am so unimaginative. I don't think I could ever do that. Yes, I've got links to some free patterns (look up) and I had a scarf featured in the 2007 Crochet Pattern-a-Day calender...but I would hardly call myself a designer. Two scarves and stockinette stitch Thneeds? Nah, that's not designing.

So to all those fabulous designers out there: I salute you and thank you. Without your skills, there would be no patterns and pattern dependent knitters like me would have nothing to do.
