Fit: Comfy. Perhaps the armholes are a bit snug. After this sweater and the Wing-It Vest I learned that I could probably make them a little deeper with minimal number crunching.
Craftsmanship
I was willing to give the Tube Toporini twins a craftsmanship rating of "good" because when I made them, I was in my sweater making infancy. (I will not count any sweater made pre T3*.)
By the time I made this sweater I had higher expectations of myself so I will say the craftsmanship is average due to two things: the picot edge and the shoulder seams.
I did not listen to a reader (whose name escapes me right now...'fess up if it's you) and I used the same size needle for the beginning of the picot edge. Dear reader, If only I had listened and used a smaller needle size. Then the hem would lie a little flatter and I would not have that unfortunate thickness around the hips. I was lazy. I did not feel like looking for the smaller needle. I will regret this choice every time I don the sweater. (You can bet when I make this again I will remember it!)
I also did a not-good job on the shoulder seams. Seaming is not one of my favorite things anyway and by the time I got to these seams I was just ready to be done. I did not take my time and they are a bit bulky. I don't think it is that noticeable, I mean I don't look like Frankenstein or anything, but I know they are bulky.
Not Quite Lillian is not full of faults, though. I learned from the twins and I did improve my finishing by splitting the plies and making many twists and turns as I weaved (wove?) in the ends. I also learned the tubular bind off for a particularly nice finish to the armholes:

The Verdict:
I like it and I've worn it often. It is not sitting at the bottom of a closet (where all my pre T3 sweaters are.) No one really comments on it when I wear it so I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Fit: Good. The armholes aren't as snug as the previous Lillian, but the straps feel a bit off. I could stand to have a slightly narrower neck opening so they could come in a little bit.
Craftsmanship: I would say the craftsmanship is good, but the designing is poor to fair.
- I like the 2x2 ribbing, but I could have stopped and inch and a half earlier.
- I should have separated the ribbing from the stockinette with a simple purl row or maybe two garter stitch rows...or gone right into stockinette with nothing to mark the change.
- The 2x2 ribbing became problematic when it came to finishing the armholes and neck. I could have used 1x1 ribbing and a tubular cast off, but it my mind's eye that did not match the 2x2 at the bottom. I ended up just doing 3 purl rows which really ends up looking like Rainbow Brite's sleeves:
and 3 purl rows really doesn't pull in the neck line like ribbing would have, so it has a tendency to gap.
The Verdict: Despite it's problems, I still wear it and it is comfy. Again, I don't get any comments on it when I wear it and I don't know if that's good or bad.
Just one more sweater to review!
